Justice Jones
My name is Justice Jones and I am an 18 year old student currently majoring in voice at The Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Learning from Jodie was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my development as a young performer. Before training with Jodie I had performed from a young age and as often happens with child singers who are over-stretched, I had started to develop a number of bad habits resulting in vocal stagnancy. Jodie was able to target all my vocal issues and helped me develop as a young performer. I owe all my vocal progression, maturity and confidence to Jodie! I really appreciated Jodie’s advice from her own experience as a professional performer, because she was able to prepare me for the nature of the industry so that I always felt confident and prepared for all auditions. Without her utter commitment, encouragement and advice, I would never have been selected to study at The Conservatorium of Music. Jodie, you were a big inspiration in my personal decision to pursue a career in Opera!
Isabella Harvey
My name is Isabella Harvey and I am 25 years old. I am a professional musician, music teacher and band director. At age seven I began singing lessons with Jodie and she ignited a burning passion in me to pursue music far more than my piano lessons did! Jodie’s positive and supportive nature filled me with the confidence to perform in public and in front of my peers, not to mention Jodie’s expert tuition gave me the tools to develop my voice and stage presence. It was this firm grounding laid by Jodie that led me to also learn a brass instrument. I am now a professional trumpeter and singer and can’t recommend Jodie enough to kickstart your love for music!
Grace Partridge
My name is Grace Partridge. I am 22 years old and have just graduated from the University of NSW, having studied a BA/BMus with a top Singing Recital mark of 90. Jodie was my first ever and last ever singing teacher as I transitioned into the professional field. Through the many years I’ve had the pleasure of learning from her, I’ve known her to be technically proficient (scarily so!), nurturing, funny and endlessly encouraging. Jodie is always on the ball with repertoire choices and has often gone out of her way to make time for me. She finds the perfect balance between an industry professional and friend. I couldn’t recommend her beautiful singing voice or lessons more highly!
Ed Saloman
“To say that Jodie has been influential in allowing me to pursue my own music would be an understatement. Jodie’s guidance and experience has been utterly invaluable in the development of my singing.
Her manner combined with the incredibly relaxed but driven vibe of her lessons was crucial in giving me the confidence to try and take my singing to the next level. Put simply, she’s a phenomenal teacher, and quite apart from anything else, a lovely person who will get the best out of your voice without a shadow of a doubt.”
